UMDE Charitable Association Leads Thousands of Qurbani Donations to Gaza
UMDE has launched a large-scale aid campaign for Eid al-Adha in response to the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

UMDE Charitable Association Leads Thousands of Qurbani Donations to Gaza Amid the worsening humanitarian conditions faced by residents of the Gaza Strip, UMDE Charitable Association has launched one of its largest seasonal campaigns for Eid al-Adha. The initiative aims to deliver Qurbani meat to thousands of affected families inside the enclave through an innovative mechanism designed to effectively respond to ongoing logistical challenges. The campaign comes as a practical and urgent response to a rapidly changing field reality, where the entry of live animals has become impossible. In their place, a professional meat-canning model has been adopted—one that combines Sharia compliance, high food quality, and logistical efficiency. The campaign operates under a direct Sharia-based agency (wakalah) system, in which donors authorize the association to perform the Qurbani on their behalf. Donors can also choose the country where the sacrifice will take place (Egypt or India) and track their request digitally in real time. Once the slaughtering, cooking, and sterile packaging processes are completed, the shipments are transported through coordinated relief channels to designated crossing points. From there, the canned meat enters the Gaza Strip under precise logistical coordination. Upon arrival, the association’s accredited field teams—comprising trained volunteers and trusted partner organizations with a strong track record in humanitarian work—take over receipt, sorting, and fair distribution based on verified and regularly updated needs lists. Priority is given to displaced families, widows, people with disabilities, shelters, and affected healthcare and educational institutions. Each distribution is supported by digital tracking systems and documented field reports, ensuring that aid reaches its rightful beneficiaries with accuracy and transparency. Why did we adopt professional meat canning technology? Based on accumulated field experience, UMDE Charitable Association has adopted the “professional canning” model as the most optimal strategic solution. It ensures long-term preservation of meat without the need for continuous cold-chain logistics, reduces waste and spoilage, and facilitates local storage and distribution within Gaza. The slaughtering process is carried out in accordance with strict religious and health standards in licensed facilities in Egypt and India, where thousands of cattle are sacrificed, processed, cooked, sterilized, and packed in specialized canning factories operating under joint regulatory and Sharia supervision committees. The association’s extensive experience in this field reflects a long institutional accumulation that has enabled it to develop strict quality protocols, ensuring that every single can meets international food safety standards. Each stage of production and transportation is fully documented to guarantee transparency and accountability for both donors and beneficiaries. UMDE Charitable Association emphasizes that this campaign goes beyond food provision alone. It carries a deep humanitarian message of solidarity, reflecting the interconnectedness of the Ummah in times of hardship and reviving the values of mutual support embodied in Eid al-Adha.
